HORSE SENSE RESUME

Horse Sense, Justin Bishop (guitar, banjo and vocals) and Nancy Bray (fiddle, mandolin and vocals), was founded in 1981 in Denver, Colorado, by Bishop and his original partner, John Nielson, with the intent of performing traditional music of the American West. Throughout the ensuing years the duo amassed an impressive record of performance touring which took them around the world several times, as well as playing in some 38 states in the USA. Their work has been appreciated in many varied venues including festivals, community concerts, large concert halls, school and university programs and residencies. The group even had a concerto grosso entitled, "The Hills Of Mexico", composed for them by the late Dr. Daniel Kingman, which they performed and recorded. That recording received Best Classical Release: 1986 by the National Association of Independent Record Producers and Distributors, (NAIRD). Their CD, "Horse Sense for Kids and Other People" garnered an American Library Association Notable Children's Recording as well as a Parents' Choice Award.
